What is periodic fever?

There is periodic attack of fever alternating with a period of apyrexia.This is seen in 

• Pel Ebstein temperature in Hodgkin lymphoma
• Brucellosis.
• Relapsing fever.
• Malaria.
• Rat bite fever.
• Dengue etc.
