Hypothermia can be caused by
- Myxoedema coma.
- Prolonged exposure to cold (in street beggars, accidental or in mountaineering).
- Peripheral circulatory failure due to any cause.
- Enteric fever if associated with haemorrhage or perforation : commonly occurs in the 3rd week
- Panhypopituitarism, adrenal insufficiency.
- Myxedema coma
- Phenobarbitone poisoning
- Exposure to cold ,frost bite
- Alcohol intoxication
- Hypoglycemia
- Artificial hypothermia induced in open heart surgery.
