Severe dyspnea at rest is seen in patients with
- Acute leftventricular failure
- ARDS
- Acute exacerbation of asthma
- COPD
- Tension pneumothorax
- Massive pleural effusion
- Upper respiratory obstruction due to laryngeal edema/ angioedema
- Massive pulmonary embolism
- Foreign body in respiratory tract, irritant gas inhalation.
