What are the causes of aseptic fever ?

In aseptic fever the rise in body temperature is not due to infection.
Aseptic fever can occur secondary to the following causes 
  • Heat stroke.
  • Lymphoma, leukaemias or disseminated malignancy
  • Collagen vascular disease eg, SLE. .
  • Pontine haemorrhage.
  • Thyroid storm.
  • Acute myocardial infarction
  • Drug fever eg. rifampicin or sulphonamides.
  • Gout
  • Crush injury.
  • Radiation sickness
  • Over-atropinisation.
